Description
Rectifier Diode
Diode, an electrical component that allows the flow of current in only one direction. In circuit diagrams, a diode is represented by a triangle with a line across one vertex. The most common type of diode uses a p – n junction.
Rectifier diodes are designed to convert ac to dc and to do this properly they must have, low resistance to current flow in the forward direction and high resistance to current flow in the reverse direction. Mostly all semiconductor rectifier diodes are silicon junction types.
